Hey, You!

Quick survey to my 8, yes 8, followers :)

I'm the kind of gal that prefers pearls over diamonds and moons over stars. What kind of gal (or woman) are you?

Did you know that pearls are the oldest known gem? Traditionally, they represent purity, innocence and wealth.

So, tell me what you like. Pearls, rubys, the moon, the sun, the stars? What are your hopes and dreams? Love life? What are favorite fashion trends this season? Anything!

Feel free to answer in the comments section. I'd love to hear from you.  I hope you enjoy the weekend and have a good week.

Peace, love, and muscle-powered cars,
Joy*

  1. I love anything CHANEL so I love pearls!! Where I am from the sky is so clear and beautiful. At night you can see every single star so perfectly. My sisters and I used to climb to the top of our roof, lay down on our backs and just talk as we admired the stars. I LOVE STARS!! My hope is that my blog will some how touch/inspire an insecure plus size woman to come to terms with the fact that she no matter her size, she is beautiful and she does not have to live in a baggy tee and sweats. I love life and I try to intentionally live each day with an attitude of gratefulness. I am thankful to God just to wake up each morning. My favorite fashion trend this season is COLOR!! You say Peace, Love and muscle-powered cars (which are most def only made in the good ole USA)!! I say peace, love and hair grease (because my hair looks a dry hot mess without it)!! haha Kiah

  2. I am obsessed with pearls and studs. I'm very traditional when it comes to my jewelry but I've been making an effort to step out of my closed box and try bigger and more grandiose jewelry.

Someday I hope to be more fashionable and comfortable with my style. These days I'm challenging myself by utilizing all the unused pieces in my wardrobe. I tend to find three favorite outfits and stick to them instead of being more versatile and flexible.

Just like Kiah, I love the stars. My head is always in the clouds, viewing the moon, watching the sun set. Just taking a moment to enjoy the simpler riches in life. The sky has always been fascinating to me since I was a young child.

I dream of simply being completely happy for the rest of my life.

I'm really loving the denim vest summer trends and the plus sized crop top phase. Its like a revolution of some sort, big girls are beautiful!

I am so glad you asked to get to know us better and I really do love your blog!

Pearls are so awesome! Especially, since they are the oldest known gem. Where do you live were you can see such a clear night sky? That's one of the negatives of LA, you rarely see a full sky of stars. Too much light pollution.

And ain't no shame wearing a tee and sweats. :) There's always an appropriate time for any outfit, even a bummy one such as sweats.

Color-blocking is for sure a great trend but is very risky. You have to be sure not to overdue it with such crazy colors or you'll end up looking like Sinbad from the early 90s. Haha. Which, I guess, isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Stay positive girl, good luck and I hope you get to inspire all around the world!

Awww, Vicky, I will get lost in that wedding dress site, and the last thing on my mind is marriage. Haha. Looks like you guys have a great selection though.

Glad to hear you enjoy my blog. Keep stopping by. One question: Pearls or diamonds?

    Daisy,

It's great you're stepping out of your box. And grandiose jewelry is fun, not to mention a continuing trend.

It seems like you have a pretty good handle on fashion. Plus, you are a great writer. I love that you post your own bookshelf. Reminds me to finish my books, as I've been stuck in online reading mode.

Just keep in mind that style always changes and what's most important is to be comfortable from within.

I too sometimes tend to stick to a handful of outfits, but it's always good to be a little risky now and then. Hit or miss, at least your were daring enough to try and express creativity.

Glad to hear you love my blog, I get a lot of inspiration from what you do.

  6. @JoyI think you may have misunderstood me. I said my fave trend this season is COLOR not COLOR-BLOCKING! I love all the vivid colors! Teal, Orange, Purple. I was cracking up at your Sinbad poke. haha btw - I am from Arizona....a place way down in the valley on the Colorado River. Thanks for your response! Kiah

No, you weren't misunderstood. Color-Blocking is the newest spring trend where you mix and match bold colors together like it done is here:

    Color-blocking

I thought I saw you do an outfit similar in one of your posts.

Love, AZ. Super hot, but Sedona and the Grand Canyon are beautiful.

  8. I've always been a fan of pearls and then last year my now-husband popped the question and I was instantly a diamond convert!
